Cupertino and West Hills Affiliate Meetings in December will be replaced this month with the Affiliate Advent Retreat Experience via Zoom on December 10.

Cupertino Community:

Since the pandemic, participation has dwindled since most of our contact is via Zoom. We are grateful to Bro. David Betz for helping us organize our meetings. We are keeping them simple. There are the faithful few of us who gather on a regular basis via Zoom. The brothers' community opened up once since the pandemic numbers went down. Then, nine brothers contracted Covid (not the fault of the Affiliates) and we had to close our center to outside visitors again. However, Bro. Jack Somerville made an executive decision to allow several affiliates to attend Sunday mass at the Marianist Center.

Kathie Van Sickle organized and hosted a biscotti making event for the brothers. It seemed to be a most welcome event for the few brothers who participated.

Kathie Van Sickle continues to volunteer her time to drive brothers to appointments. She also was very helpful in spending time with Brother Bob Juenemann over the last year or so, helping him with personal and clerical details.

West Hills Community:

We congratulate our own Marcela Yerena who has been elected as the new Head of Education for MLC-NA. How fortunate to have another representative from the West Coast serving on the MLC-NA Leadership Council.

With the success of our in-person Marianist World Day of Prayer and Social in October, we are hoping to continue our regular meetings in person very soon.
